JJF has more power. He gains speed from his top turns. EE is smoother though.

Ethan's power surfing during the wsl final that one year was insane he was tweaking out round houses and powercarves with tail slides at the end after recovering from a serious injury. And they gave the win to airs it's a shame the judges are so biased.

I feel like EE has more of a Tom Curren style whereby I could watch him just turn all day whereas JJF is just more raw…he is more powerful-looking while turning.

Ethan reminds me of Mick and JJ reminds me of Sunny Garcia. One is speed and flow and the other is just raw power destroying the wave.

jjf has much smoother bottom turn and keeps rail engaged longer. Both are great tho.

I’m an Aussie and a massive EE fan but JJF is next level, holds the rail longer and throws more power into his carves. Wave 5 perfect example as is his work at Margaret River

JJF is a larger human so he can put more meat in his turns. He also has a more creative approach. EE’s a more stylish surfer but not quite as vicious and unique in his approach.
It would have been better to show them surfing the same spots, tho.
