   She deserves Surfer of the Year imho. She started by winning Grom Search, then she medaled with team Canada in Panama, then she won an individual silver after a Herculean effort through 12 grueling repo rounds at ISA's, then she won the last CS comp of the season in dramatic fashion, seizing a coveted top 10 spot in the process, then she won the Haleiwa Pro, also in dramatic fashion, and then finally she made the Pipe Masters finals on her very first try at just 16 years old. That's quite a resume for Surfer of the Year.
