Hey, ive forgotten to zip up my suit sprinting out for a surf a few times except the water here was 42f (~4.5c)! It happens lol it will definitely make things rough! You got some great ride time out there and I could feel the stoke so I'd say that's an absolute win :) If the wave lets you take your time to pop up and you do, that's all good right now. Like another commenter mentioned, more speed will let you just glide and kind of carry you, the wobbles are real when the wave is weaker! Just keep getting out there and having fun, for me surf progression has a lot of plateaus before some big "aha!" moments, I'm sure 3:16 can be every surfers inner dialogue haha!!

Also I just read description you're 6h from the ocean so just getting out there enjoying the water you're killing it. You made progress throughout this vid by trying things out that you were aware of, soon more things will be muscle memory and no thought. Cheers from New Jersey and happy belated birthday

Well done Ange. I surfed for 6 years in early 20s. Takes a while, but you are out there....and getting up. Living adventurously....inspiration to others in their 60s . ❤

Don't worry so much about your elbows at this stage ! The fact that your standing is a great effort .
You also have to remember that those small waves at North BROU are weak ! Hence you will wobble all over the place at first.
Keep at it , you will find the way that suits you.

Love this vid. Dont be so hard on yourself. Yes its the only way to get better, but it takes time. The one bit of advice I would give you, that could fix all your observed issues, is the paddle with your chest off the board. Its tough on your back, but u will get stronger.
