I know I am going to state the obvious -- and echo the same thing I have heard Slater say -- but Ethan Ewing's surfing at this wave is literally perfect. His timing, his approach, the lines he draws, it is just stunning. There is no wasted movement, no hopping, not two stage bottom turns. I think people find his surfing boring or "not progressive" because he makes it all look so easy. Even his blow tails he does are smooth and effortless. To make it look that stylish and good is "progressive surfing" to me. Also, great surfing Lakey. Smooth, clean, and powerful. Lastly, how about Mikey February with the soulful lines and arches on the mid-length! Maybe some of my favorite surfing in this clip!

This is small jay...when it breaks out a quarter mile on the summer solstice in North America...it is possibly one of the most powerful waves on the planet...then to catch it with assist, you are in 1200 feet of water where great whites breed...not for the faint of heart
